Cathays Cemetery

Cemeteries are great places to take photographs and on Sunday I went for a walk around part of Cathays Cemetery in Cardiff - I say part of the cemetery because Cathays is the 3rd largest Victorian Garden Cemetery in the United Kingdom - it's going to take a few more visits before I have all the shots I want - oh who am I kidding I will never get enough shots - anyway - here are the first batch

St Fagan's - 2nd Trip

Last week I made a return trip to St Fagan's. The National History Museum of Wales is a great day out, with lots to see, last time I posted photos of the gardens and a few of the relocated buildings, here are some interiors of those buildings.

Flour Mill - The Mill is still in use and bags of flour are available from the Museum Shop

Oakdale Workmens Men's Institute's Reading Room

 Post Office

The Gwalia Stores

There is such a lot to see that I will hopefully return there soon for another look around the gardens - after all - it's free.

For more information visits the St Fagans Web page

Castell Coch - The Fairy tale Castle

Went to Castell Coch the other day.
It's a beautiful Castle and is like something out of a fairy tale. For more information on Castell Coch and other Welsh Heritage sites visit the Cadw website.

For some history of the Castle visit its Wikipedia page.

And now the photos!

Flaming (windy) June

Well as usual the British summertime has been well pretty awful, this year it's been terrible with lots of flooding in part of the Country, and very high winds - as you can see from the photos below:

This tree in Heath Park, Cardiff was literally pulled out by the roots - strange though that other trees in the park, I guess this tree had some fatal flaw

Just a few pictures of Misty the most beautiful dog in the world

14 Locks Canal Centre

Just a few photos form 14 Locks, that I took a few days ago

14 Locks is a lovely walk and the locks that have been restored are quite impressive, it must have been quite an operation when the locks were actually working - amazing engineering
