Lack of Photos - lots of excuses

I haven't posted for a while and to be honest the reason for this is just that I can't be bothered - I'm still looking out of the window and thinking about the light being good or bad, I'm still thinking of places to go and I'm still reading books and magazines about photography.

I'm hoping though to get my laptopn back this week so normal service should soon be restored

Totally Manual Mode

I recently bought a book on exposure and one of the things it said was to use the camera in manual mode using the cameras built in light meter - so today I thought I'd give it a go. Now, the light meter on the Canon is obviously very different from the one on the Pentax, but I had used manual on the Pentax for years it's only recently that I have started using things like AV mode.
So here are a few shots from today's experiment and I will be definately using the camera on manual a lot more - but I think I'd better finish reading the book as well

Frustrations of no PC

The frustrations of having no PC at home is really starting to get to me - big time. Although I can use the iMac at my parents house I am limited to the amount of time I can spend there so of course my photos are building up into a significant backlog - I still have several hundred photos from the Cornwall holiday to go through as well as images from my last walk along the river and the ones from the canal. Also there is t he problem of the my parens dodgy wireless internet connection, which keeps going off while I'm trying to upload my photos to this very blog. all in all it makes me want to give up taking pictures all together - I won't as I have lots of sessions planned in the next few months - but I just can't see how I am going to keep up to date with them (short of moving into my parents house), and for the time being there is no way of buying a new computer.
So although I will bne posting it's pretty hit and miss as to whether I will be able to upload my photos - so I guess you'll just have to keep checking back to see.

Autumn Colours Along the Canal

Yesterday I took a walk along the canal - it was a lovely sunny afternoon, a bit windy but what can you expect on the 1st November? At least the winter chills haven't set in just yet, though I am sure it won't be long - until next time enjoy the beautiful colours of Autumn
