It's been a long time

Since I posted on this platform, I haven't been taking many photos in the last few years, hopefully that will change soon.

I have been shooting a bit of film as I have missed the tangibility of holding a negative in my hands after developing it myself.

I have also been buying and selling film cameras, after I have tested them of course which means it takes a long time for me to actual list them for sale - here are a few I have developed and scanned.

Not the greatest I will admit, but I will be back to digital soon and do have a lot of photos that I can share with you from various places over the years

Canal Walk

You never know what you are going to see when you take a walk along the canal, this time I was lucky to catch the heron

Ducklings on the canal

The last time we went for a walk along the canal we decided to feed the ducks, it was really an excuse to get them to come closer so I could take some photos of the ducklings, they were happy for  the food, though Mama Duck got most of it!

More one off shots

Yes folks it's that time again - more shots that have been taking specifically for Blipfoto.

Don't worry have loads of new photos to share - more garden and canal, but also some from Roath Lake and I am about to head out to Cardiff Bay for some more.

I really need to catch up though so I am actually posting to the blog on the day of the trip or near about. Still onwards bloggers onwards
Still discovering the things that are in the garden - Primroses can stay

Perfume collection - shame the bottles are a bit dusty

We haven't decided whether or not to keep the tree - we don't know what kind it is yet

But the Dandelions have to go!

Once more unto the canal my friends once more

Yes I know it's getting repetitive, either flowers all the canal.  But I promise I will go some where for some different shots soon - including another cemetery but for now I am afraid it is still the canal

The Canal

It's great living so much closer to the canal, especially  now the weather is getting better, plenty to photograph and of course healthy exercise.
Here are a few from one of the more recent walks

Canal Walk

First walk of the year along the canal, beautiful sunny day and the sky was lovely and blue, polarising filter on which I think has helped in these shots. I was only out about an hour but there were a lot of people out and about, a father and his two children were even canoeing on the canal!

The empty canal

The last time we went for a walk along the canal from 14 locks to Newport - part of the canal was empty and it was very strange looking into the canal bed and there being no water there at all. - along way from it's heyday when the barges were used to carry coal from the pits to Newport.

Still in certain places there was still water.

Fingers crossed that this weekend the weather will be good and I will be able to get out and take a load of new photos to share- I still have more of flowers, the dog and of Arnos Vale, but I need to get out there and take more!

14 Locks

Yet more shots from 14 Locks as this attraction is only up the road so to speak it is so easy just to pop up there for a couple of hours of good walking and taking photos

Heron on the canal

Saw this heron on the canal the other day - just as I started snapping he flew away - typical - still I did get  this shot

14 Locks Canal Centre

Just a few photos form 14 Locks, that I took a few days ago

14 Locks is a lovely walk and the locks that have been restored are quite impressive, it must have been quite an operation when the locks were actually working - amazing engineering
