Newport Scenes

Newport is currently under going a major regeneration project - whether or not this will bring people back in to the city remains to be seen.

The old Bus Station/Car Park is now being cleared

Window detail in the provisions market

Darth Vader stops by for his vegetables from the market

 Bank Clock

 Statue

Details above the entrance to the now closed Westgate Hotel - very sad that it is all boarded and sealed instead of being used for something

Abercarn Cemetery

Oh well I guess I am behind again - the Dolman is really taking over my life!
These photos were taken at the beginning of May on the Bank Holiday and here we are nearing the end of the month and another Bank Holiday.

So here is post 1 from Abercarn - previously I have posted photos from St Luke's Abercarn, one  of the churches (no abandoned) that would have conducted services for the deceased before the remains were transported to the cemetery. This cemetery is still in use and there appears to be plenty of room at the moment.

A beautiful day for a walk around the monuments - we took the dog, and there is no problem with walking your dog in the grounds as long as they are kept on leads and you clear up after them. A lovely way to spend the afternoon

The 2nd (and last) set of photos from Cardiff Bay

After walking across the barrage and having a drink in the Custom House we decided to enjoy the easy route back to Mermaid Quay and took the water bus.
Great day

And in Eddies American Diner - There was a Tardis in the toilet!!!!

Cardiff Bay

We spent a lovely afternoon in Cardiff Bay recently, had some food at Eddies American Diner and then a walk past the Dr Who Experience and over the barrage - here are the first of the photos from that lovely afternoon!

The 'old' Cardiff Bay station - the current station is actually on the other side of this building

Yet another Scott Memorial - as he left from Cardiff on his fateful journey

The Doctor Who Experience - not - yet but soon, very soon

Lots more bird shots I'm afraid - Roath Park Lake is amazing for ducks and geese and even a Black Swan

Walk around Roath Park Lake

Well the weather has changed again - these photos were taken this time last week and then it was absolutely gorgeous - but today wet and windy and grey - where is summer, I think it's time it arrived.

Anyway we had a lovely walk around the lake and here are the first of the photos I took, there are lots more so keep checking back for more from the lake

Flowers in MY garden

Normally I post pictures of flowers from my Dad's garden, these ones, however are growing in my garden - I have no idea what the purple top one is or the one underneath which is on the tree but the 2nd from the bottom is Strawberry and the very bottom is a violet

Ducklings on the canal

The last time we went for a walk along the canal we decided to feed the ducks, it was really an excuse to get them to come closer so I could take some photos of the ducklings, they were happy for  the food, though Mama Duck got most of it!
