Porthtowan
So after a yummy Sunday Lunch in The Basset Arms, Portreath, we journeyed a little way up the coast to Porthtowan, another fabulous beach popular with surfers, the poor guy from the RNLI had problems keeping the surfers and swimmers in the safe water, he kept using his megaphone to announce where the safe area was, but nobody took any notice of him.
Anyway time for a few photos and even though the clouds were threatening rain, it held off for long enough.

Portreath
Here are a few more photos of Portreath, I am sure you will have had enough of the place by the time I reach the end of the Cornwall photos, however you will be glad to know that the next post will be of a different beach Porthtowan, which is a little bit along the coast.
The good thing about Cornwall is that you a never that far away from the sea

Portreath - Again
As we were staying in Portreath it goes without saying that I took photos of the beach at various times of the day. As you can see the weather was stunning more like June than October!!

Cornwall Holiday to Portreath
So as I explained in a previous post, I have just got back from a weeks break in Cornwall - this time we stayed in Portreath, which is 5 miles north of Redruth. We arrived about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and after dumping our luggage in the cottage we hurried to the beach - a 2 minute walk away - yay. Although a bit cloudy I took a few photos and had a paddle in the sea before heading back for some dinner.
After a lovely dinner an early night was in order before the Cornish adventures really began!!!

The White Castle
It was a very sunny day when we decided to pack a picnic and head off for the White Castle - it took a while to find down some narrow country lanes, but is a lovely place for a picnic and a gentle stroll, on the day we visited there were re-enactors there and the opportunity to shoot arrows at a target - I didn't. I was too busy taking photos.
There is a lot of information on the net about this Castle - so I'm not going to copy any of it here, but I will link to a couple of sites so you can look up more information if you like.

I have one more location to share before I move on to the Cornwall photos, but for now enjoy these last few from Dewstow. If you fancy visiting the gardens yourself there are links to both the website and their Facebook page at the bottom of this post.
