Boscastle - Floods and Fish 'n' Chips

14 miles south of Bude and 5 miles from Tintagel, Boscastle is a lovely town and well worth a visit, devastated on August 16th 2004 when heavy rain caused flash flooding, in the town itself 89mm of rain fell in one hour and the led to the river rising by 2 meters.
Boscastle bounced back and the day we went the river was low and the tide was out, however in nearby businesses the flood water is still marked on the walls

As you can see it was a beautiful day when we visited - lovely and sunny and quite warm, so we decided to brave it and have fish and chips outside

The fish and chips were stunning absolutely beautiful and if you are in the town and fancy the above I heartily recommend the Sails Cafe as the food was amazing.
